FLO’s Baltimore Homeless Festival

FLO’s Baltimore Homeless Festival at Excel Academy at Francis M. Wood High School on August 11, 2018 was awe inspiring and very impactful. We served over 1100 people. A total of 103 people received free hair cuts both on the Baltimore Mobile Barber Lounge & Avara’s Academy Of Hair Design inside the school. University of Maryland School of Dentistry serviced 80 community members. Maryland Public Defender serviced 37 clients for expungement, Baltimore City Health Department serviced 93 clients for HIV screening. Kick Dreams United, an organization that donates new shoes to individuals experiencing hardship gave out over 300 pairs of shoes. Shay Sharpe Sharpe Pink Wishes distributed 200 hygiene kits & underwear to the first 200 women that approached their table. In addition, over 1000 backpacks & school supplies was distributed out to Baltimore City Public School students that attended our event. We received media coverage from WMAR-2 News Baltimore and WBAL-TV 11 Baltimore. Huge thanks to our sponsors, services providers, volunteers and Excel Academy.
